Project Description

Rotary Club of Central Banke Signed 3-Year School Adopt MOU and Hands Over Bio-Sand Filter at Bageshwari Secondary School

The Rotary Club of Central Banke has successfully conducted a program to sign a 3-year School Adopt Project Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Shree Bageshwari Secondary School, located in Baijanath Rural Municipality–03, Gavar, Banke. During the same event, the club also handed over a bio-sand water filter to the school.

Incoming Rotary Year 2026–27 President Ishwari Jung Malla signed the School Adopt agreement in the presence of the Chairperson of the School Management Committee and the Principal. The agreement will remain effective from July 1, 2026, to June End 2029.

According to the agreement, the Rotary Club of Central Banke has committed to supporting the overall development and growth of the school over the next three years by implementing programs based on Rotary’s seven areas of focus.

Similarly, current Rotary Year 2025–26 President Ganga Ram Chaulagain formally handed over the bio-sand filter to School Management Committee Chairperson Bhavana Chaudhary and Principal Hikmat Kumar B.C. during the program.

Past President and Service Project Chair Kishor Krishna Bhandari informed that the filter was provided with special support from Rotary Club of Patan South. Expressing gratitude to Rotary Club of Patan South, he also shared his expectation for continued collaboration in the future.

With the installation of the filter, it is believed that access to clean and safe drinking water at the school will improve significantly. President Gangaram Chaulagain stated that students and teachers will now be able to use purified water, which will help reduce waterborne diseases. He further added that the initiative is expected to make an important contribution toward promoting hygiene, health awareness, and a clean environment within the school.

Teacher Laxman Shahi, along with the school family, expressed gratitude for the social initiative undertaken by the Rotary Club of Central Banke, stating that such support would positively impact students’ health and education.

The handover program was attended by Club President Gangaram Chaulagain, Past President Kishor Bhandari, President (2026–27) Ishwari Jung Malla, Club Administration Chief Mohabir Khadka, journalist Dinesh Nyaupane, and others.
