Project Description
As part of its ongoing commitment to community welfare and student health awareness, Rotary
Club of Dillibazar–Kathmandu successfully carried out the second phase of its free school-level
eye health camp in Chandragiri Municipality.
The camp took place at Bishnu Devi Shiksha Sadan Secondary School in Satungal, Ward No.
11, where nearly 600 students from several public schools underwent free eye check-ups. The
initiative aimed to detect vision problems among children at an early stage and contribute to
their academic performance and overall well-being.
According to the organizers, students identified with vision impairments during the screening will
receive free prescription glasses. The program particularly focused on supporting children from
financially disadvantaged backgrounds who may not otherwise have access to proper eye care
services.
Past President and Program Coordinator Lilanath Sharma shared that the event was made
successful through the cooperation of various governmental and non-governmental
organizations, including GMPT Foundation, Chandragiri Municipality, Chandragiri Hills, BP
Koirala Lions Center, Sahaj Foundation, and Kalibhakta Foundation.
The event was attended by Rotary Club President Prem Kumar Oli, Past Presidents Dr.
Parthiweshwor Timilsina and Indira Parajuli, Rotarian Bishnu Parajuli, representatives from
partner organizations, school officials, teachers, health workers, and community members.
The club stated that it will continue organizing humanitarian programs focused on education,
healthcare, and social service in the future.
