Project Description
During the regular weekly meeting of Rotary Club of Patan Durbar Square held on 17th May 2026, H. member Rtn. Emojini Shrestha delivered an informative talk program on “Disability Inclusion and Current Provisions Related to It in Nepal” to club members and the spouse group.
The session highlighted the importance of creating an inclusive society where persons with disabilities can equally participate in education, healthcare, employment, public services, and community life. The discussion also focused on the present policies, legal rights, government support systems, accessibility provisions, and social protection measures available for persons with disabilities in Nepal.
Members actively discussed the challenges faced by individuals with disabilities and explored how Rotary can contribute through awareness programs, inclusive community projects, rehabilitation support, education, vocational opportunities, and advocacy for accessibility and dignity.
The program increased awareness among members regarding disability rights and encouraged future collaboration in building a more inclusive and supportive community for children and adults with disabilities in Nepal.
